According to Forbes.com, the Army is mixing Macs into its network in an attempt to make it harder for hackers to get in. The theory is by randomly placing the Macs in the network, would-be hackers will be thrown for a loop.

Until now, Macs have pretty much flown under the hacker radar because of the small and unimportant user base. What hacker worth anything would waste their time writing a virus that would only piss off a bunch of winy-ass poser bitches in the Village, when you could hack Window-based machines that would f-up banks, schools, and the Pentagon? But now, will a meaningful target, it’s only a matter of time until the landslide starts.

And it’s going to be ugly. I bet your average Mac user is woefully under-protected from outside threats because of Apple’s own advertising of “Macs don’t get viruses.” They better start looking in the “Anti-Virus” section of download.com.
